AmeriHealth Caritas, a national leader in Medicaid managed care and other health care solutions for those most in need, announced that it has appointed Scott Westover as market president of its New Hampshire plan, AmeriHealth Caritas New Hampshire. In this role, Westover will be responsible for the plan’s strategic direction, growth, and leadership. He will also serve as the plan’s primary point of contact with the state of New Hampshire.
Westover has more than 15 years of experience working with New Hampshire health care organizations. His local experience includes working for leading health care providers, directing a Medicaid health plan, and driving national health strategy for multiple Fortune 50 corporations. He most recently served as vice president, provider joint ventures and national accounts for Anthem, Inc.
Westover holds a bachelor’s degree from New England College and a Master of Business Administration degree from Franklin Pierce College. He grew up in Milford, New Hampshire, and now lives in the Concord area.
“As we expand into New Hampshire, we are fortunate to have found a leader who has a strong understanding of the state’s Medicaid population and a belief in our mission to help people get care, stay well, and to build healthy communities,” said AmeriHealth Caritas Chairman and CEO Paul Tufano. “Scott’s background and expertise will be highly valuable to us as we build relationships with New Hampshire Medicaid enrollees, caregivers, providers, and advocacy groups; and support the state in its work to provide high quality, sustainable health care for its citizens.”
“AmeriHealth Caritas has the right attitude for New Hampshire – putting members first and working with doctors and other health care providers to improve the lives of their patients. I’m excited to focus on helping people in my home state,” said Westover. “Families benefit from the programs AmeriHealth Caritas Family of Companies offers to help them address socioeconomic factors that influence their health. It’s a privilege to serve AmeriHealth Caritas’ membership in New Hampshire.”
