AmeriHealth Caritas Appoints Kathleen Giblin Senior Vice President, Clinical Operations

April 5, 2023
Newtown Square, Pa.

AmeriHealth Caritas, a national leader in Medicaid managed care and health care solutions for those most in need, announced it has appointed Kathleen Giblin as Senior Vice President, Clinical Operations. An accomplished health care executive with more than 25 years of experience in health plan quality and medical management roles, Giblin will lead the strategy and planning of key clinical operational initiatives that support the company’s Medicaid, Medicare and Exchange lines of business. She will also oversee the implementation of new and enhanced integrated clinical operations. Giblin will report to Dr. Karen Amstutz, Chief Medical Officer at AmeriHealth Caritas.

Giblin joins AmeriHealth Caritas after six years as Senior Vice President, Emerging Initiatives and Program Operations at National Quality Forum, a not-for-profit organization that establishes and recommends quality measures for health care providers and payers. Prior to joining National Quality Forum, Giblin held leadership roles at Evolent Health, Aetna, and Connecticare.

“Kathleen is a proven leader with an impressive track record of designing clinical improvements that support business growth,” said AmeriHealth Caritas CEO Paul A. Tufano. “We look forward to her expertise as we expand and innovate and to her contributions to our vision of supporting our members through their whole life journey, from wellness to resilience, as they achieve their American Dream.”

Giblin holds a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from Fairfield University in Connecticut. She began her career as a clinical nurse at three hospitals in the New York City area.
