Paul A. Tufano

Paul A. Tufano

Chairman and Chief Executive Officer

Paul Tufano is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the AmeriHealth Caritas Family of Companies, one of the nation's leading Medicaid managed care organizations. Headquartered in Philadelphia, the organization serves 13 states and the District of Columbia, helping those most in need get care, stay well, and build healthy communities.

During his tenure as CEO, the company has successfully launched entirely new markets, implemented new lines of business in existing markets, and experienced significant growth. Mr. Tufano is also Executive Vice President of Philadelphia-based Independence Blue Cross, where he previously served as General Counsel.

Prior to joining Independence Blue Cross and ultimately AmeriHealth Caritas, Mr. Tufano served as General Counsel of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. He and a staff of more than 500 attorneys represented Governor Tom Ridge and the executive branch in litigation; transactions; and regulatory, legislative, and criminal justice matters. He was a member of the governor's cabinet and the governor's senior staff.

Mr. Tufano earned his Doctor of Law degree from Villanova University. He is a past member of the Board of Trustees of the Philadelphia Bar Foundation and has actively supported funding legal services for low-income individuals.

Mr. Tufano is the immediate past Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Villanova University and the immediate past Chairman of the Board of the Kimmel Center for Performing Arts. He is a board member of the Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce and United Way of Greater Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey.

Steve Bohner

Steve Bohner

Executive Vice President of Health Markets

Steve Bohner is Executive Vice President of Health Markets, a role focused on AmeriHealth Caritas' ongoing success by driving market growth, development, and satisfaction.

He is responsible for overseeing the company's growth, retention, product development, community affairs, and engagement programs for new and existing markets. Health Markets facilitates high-quality services across all markets, while deepening local relationships and partnerships that allow AmeriHealth Caritas to continue serving as a trusted partner and supporter for government customers.

Mr. Bohner joined AmeriHealth Caritas in 1992, serving in various accounting and financial roles before becoming Chief Financial Officer in 2009. One of the longest-tenured members of the executive team, he has extensive knowledge of our business and has helped the company navigate significant growth and success. Prior to AmeriHealth Caritas, Mr. Bohner worked in public accounting for almost three years.

Mr. Bohner earned a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting and finance from Davis and Elkins College, Elkins, West Virginia. He is a licensed Certified Public Accountant in Pennsylvania and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA).

Mark T. Bullock

Mark T. Bullock

Executive Vice President and Chief Administrative and Compliance Officer

Mark T. Bullock is Executive Vice President and Chief Administrative and Compliance Officer of AmeriHealth Caritas. He is a seasoned health care executive with an extensive record of leadership on a range of major and complex issues shaping the industry.

Mr. Bullock is responsible for Corporate Compliance, Medicare Compliance, Enterprise Risk Management, Internal Auditing, Human Resources, and Corporate Communications.

Prior to joining AmeriHealth Caritas, Mr. Bullock served as Senior Vice President for Advocacy and General Counsel for Mercy Health System, providing strategic legal counsel as well as compliance and advocacy guidance while overseeing government affairs and risk management. Previous service also includes General Counsel for Greater Atlantic Health Service, Associate Counsel for Graduate Health System, and work on corporate, finance, and health care matters as an associate at Mylotte David & Fitzpatrick.

Mr. Bullock earned a Doctor of Law degree from Catholic University of America and a Bachelor of Arts degree in history from Villanova University, where he recently taught as an adjunct professor in the Law School.

Mr. Bullock has long been active in the Philadelphia community, holding governance positions for the Urban Affairs Coalition and Merion Mercy Academy, formerly chairing the Radnor Township Board of Health, and participating in Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf's Human Services Department Transition Committee.

Eileen M. Coggins

Eileen M. Coggins

Executive Vice President and General Counsel

Eileen M. Coggins is Executive Vice President and General Counsel of AmeriHealth Caritas. She is responsible for overseeing Legal and Government Affairs for AmeriHealth Caritas. Prior to her current role at AmeriHealth Caritas, Ms. Coggins served as Senior Vice President, Long-term Services and Supports (LTSS), Medicare and Medicare-Medicaid Plans (MMPs), and Senior Vice President, Compliance and Enterprise Risk Management.

In addition to being a corporate lawyer, Ms. Coggins has extensive experience working with Medicare and companies specializing in home care, long-term care, durable medical equipment, and pharmacy. Prior to joining AmeriHealth Caritas, Ms. Coggins served as General Counsel and Senior Vice President of Government Affairs for Univita Health Inc. and Senior Vice President, General Counsel, and Corporate Secretary of Genesis Healthcare Corporation.

Ms. Coggins earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in public administration from Pennsylvania-based West Chester University and a Doctor of Law degree from Widener University School of Law in Wilmington, Delaware.

Her professional affiliations include the Widener University School of Law Health Policy Board, American Health Lawyers Association, American Bar Association Business Law Section, and Association of Corporate Counsel. Ms. Coggins also serves as a board member for the Committee of Seventy.

Marilyn Eckley

Marilyn Eckley

Executive Vice President of Health Services

Marilyn Eckley is Executive Vice President of Health Services, a role focused on AmeriHealth Caritas' mission to support the health and well-being of our members, caregivers, and the communities in which they live.

She is responsible for overseeing Population Health clinical care and social support services, Member Engagement, and Medical Excellence, as well as Technology Solutions to ensure the delivery of high-quality, whole-person care that integrates physical and behavioral health, dental, pharmacy, and social supports. Ms. Eckley also oversees critical community support programs that actively address the social determinants that play a crucial role in our members' health and the health of their communities.

Her role also includes overseeing Provider Network Management and Enterprise Operations, enhancing provider partnerships through simplification of health services payment and the development of alternative and value-based payment, for our company's network of doctors, hospitals, and other health care and community-based provider groups.

Ms. Eckley joined AmeriHealth Caritas in 2010, at that time taking on the role of Senior Vice President of Enterprise Operations. Prior to joining AmeriHealth Caritas, she served as an Executive Director and President at UnitedHealth Group and has held several leadership roles within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

Ms. Eckley earned a Master of Public Administration degree from The Pennsylvania State University.

Peter Jacuk

Peter Jakuc

Senior Vice President and Chief Development Officer

Peter Jakuc is Senior Vice President and Chief Development Officer for AmeriHealth Caritas. In this position, he plays an integral leadership role in the company, driving corporate development activities and growth of the organization, with functional responsibility for market development, product development, market entry, proposals and applications, marketing, and community investment. Mr. Jakuc is responsible for the organization's merger and acquisition activities, as well as market insights and competitive intelligence functions.

Prior to joining AmeriHealth Caritas, Mr. Jakuc was Senior Vice President of Corporate Development for Centene Corporation where he had direct responsibility for the company's acquisitions, joint ventures, partnerships, and other growth-related efforts. In addition, he previously worked as an investment banker and served as a naval officer and pilot in the United States Navy.

Mr. Jakuc earned a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Notre Dame and a Master of Science degree in management from Troy University while in the Navy. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and a member of the Society of Financial Analysts as well as the CFA Institute.
