Your diverse business reflects the values and diversity of the community it serves. We live and work in the same communities — they’re our home, too. That’s why we prioritize diverse businesses that support the values of these neighborhoods.

Through our Supplier Diversity Program, we've worked for more than 40 years to maximize the positive impact that suppliers like you bring to our local communities. We believe in it so strongly that we commit a significant amount of our annual spending toward vendor services for diverse businesses. Over the last five years, that translates to more than $235 million spent on these partnerships.

We also actively support local business diversity organizations, such as:

  • Minority Supplier Development Council.
  • Women Business Enterprise Council.
  • Urban League.
  • Minority Business Development Agency.
  • African American Chamber of Commerce.
  • Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.
  • The Department of Small and Local Business Development.

From providing the business with a boost to inspiring diversity among his employees, see why Shabir Sumar, Owner, Lehigh Print & Data, says his business “wouldn’t be here without AmeriHealth Caritas’ focus on small and diverse Pennsylvania businesses.”

These efforts are just the start. As we continue to grow and offer our innovative health care solutions throughout the country, we look forward to providing even more opportunities for emerging businesses like yours.

Our commitment to diverse suppliers

Since 2013, we’ve increased our procurement from diverse businesses from 14 percent to 21 percent. Over that time, procurement from diverse businesses has grown at a faster rate (87 percent) than overall procurement (20 percent).

“We thank AmeriHealth Caritas for valuing quality partners, including local and minority women; the health and well-being of its neighbors; and trustworthy business practices.”

— Jean Wang, President, Quantum Inc.
