AmeriHealth Caritas Sponsoring National Association of Community Health Centers Community Health Institute & Expo
AmeriHealth Caritas, a national leader in Medicaid managed care and other health care solutions for those most in need, is advancing its commitment to the providers serving much of that population by sponsoring the National Association of Community Health Centers’ (NACHC’s) annual Community Health Institute & Expo. The event, to be held Aug. 26-28 in Orlando, Florida, will bring together leaders, clinicians, and board members from the nation’s community health centers and organizations who work with their patients.
AmeriHealth Caritas also sponsored local activities hosted by individual community health centers for NACHC’s National Health Center Week observance earlier this month in Florida, Louisiana, Michigan, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, and the District of Columbia.
According to NACHC, health centers serve more than 27 million Americans, many of them with low incomes and lacking access to other health care providers. AmeriHealth Caritas is proud to collaborate with community health centers in each of the markets where it offers managed care health plans.
"Community health centers are a critical component of our efforts to remove barriers to care and build healthier communities," said Keith Johnson, vice president, corporate provider network management for AmeriHealth Caritas. "We greatly appreciate the work they do for many of our members. And, in return, we are committed to supporting them in that work and helping them grow and thrive."
Some of the other ways AmeriHealth Caritas supports community health centers are:
- Establishing a national community health center advisory board, through which it obtains input on strategy, evolution of value-based programs, and other ideas from community health center leaders.
- Offering value-based contracting programs designed to meet the unique needs of community health centers and their patients.
- Assisting community health centers in transforming their practices to take advantage of new opportunities and meet new requirements.
- Sponsoring and participating in events hosted by community health centers and their state organizations throughout the year.
