AmeriHealth Caritas Launches AmeriHealth Caritas Next℠ for the Affordable Care Act Marketplace
New business line launches in 25 North Carolina counties, with more states to follow, to further support members’ pathway to greater health and well-being
Philadelphia, Pa.
AmeriHealth Caritas, a national leader in Medicaid managed care and other health care solutions for those most in need, announced today that it is entering the health insurance marketplace (or exchange) with its AmeriHealth Caritas NextSM product. Based on the same principles of compassion and health equity that have been the company’s cornerstone for nearly four decades, AmeriHealth Caritas Next will provide services and supports to help people, including those who are transitioning from Medicaid to a health insurance marketplace, access the clinical care and other resources essential for ongoing health and well-being.
AmeriHealth Caritas will initially offer two bronze-level plans, three silver-level plans, and one gold-level plan to health insurance marketplace consumers in 25 North Carolina counties: Alexander, Alleghany, Buncombe, Catawba, Clay, Davidson, Davie, Forsyth, Guilford, Haywood, Iredell, Jackson, Macon, Madison, McDowell, Mitchell, Randolph, Rutherford, Stokes, Surry, Swain, Transylvania, Wilkes, Yadkin, and Yancey. Open enrollment will start Nov. 1, 2021, with coverage to take effect Jan. 1, 2022. AmeriHealth Caritas plans to expand AmeriHealth Caritas Next to other states in the future.
AmeriHealth Caritas Next members will benefit from AmeriHealth Caritas’ Next Generation Model of Care, which focuses on the whole person and the underlying socioeconomic factors, or social determinants, of their health. They will also have access to AmeriHealth Caritas’ care management and wellness programs, which have received national acclaim for their efforts to improve health outcomes and reduce disparities.
“AmeriHealth Caritas Next expands our impact to support members throughout their full life journey, from wellness to resilience,” said AmeriHealth Caritas Chairman and CEO Paul A. Tufano. “We are pleased to provide access to affordable, quality health care options to a broader group of members through AmeriHealth Caritas Next. We look forward to helping these new members obtain the services and support essential to achieving optimal health.”
