AmeriHealth Caritas Adds Marketplace Coverage in Two New States, Grows in Four Existing Markets for 2027
Partnerships with Leading Regional Health Systems Support Expansion in Select Markets
AmeriHealth Caritas is expanding its Health Insurance Marketplace® footprint for 2027, bringing plans to two new states and increasing its presence in four others.
The growth includes debuts in Indiana and Ohio along with new service areas in Florida, Louisiana, North Carolina, and South Carolina.
Altogether, the 2027 expansion will add 60 counties across six states. With Delaware included, AmeriHealth Caritas will offer Marketplace coverage across seven states and 135 counties.
New Markets
- Indiana – Plans available in seven counties covering central Indiana.
- Ohio – Coverage spanning the state’s six largest metro areas: Cincinnati, Cleveland, Columbus, Dayton, Toledo, and Youngstown.
Existing Markets
- Florida – New service areas in the Tampa Bay, Sarasota, and Treasure Coast regions.
- Louisiana – Expanding into major metro areas, including New Orleans, Lafayette, and Monroe.
- North Carolina – Entering new counties in southeastern North Carolina.
- South Carolina – Adding seven more counties throughout the state.
In several markets AmeriHealth Caritas is collaborating with large regional health systems to create Marketplace plans built around trusted local providers.

AmeriHealth Caritas’ Marketplace plans are offered under the AmeriHealth Caritas NextSM brand in most markets and First Choice NextSM brand in South Carolina.
Open enrollment for 2027 Marketplace coverage begins Nov. 1, 2026, for coverage taking effect Jan. 1, 2027.
