AmeriHealth Caritas D-SNP Growth Strengthens Commitment to Medicare Advantage, Dual Eligibles
National Managed Care Organization Adds Dual Eligible Products in Michigan, North Carolina, Louisiana and Delaware; Expands Service Area in South Carolina
As Medicare’s annual enrollment period approaches, AmeriHealth Caritas Family of Companies is growing its Medicare Advantage footprint and offering more options for people eligible for the company’s Medicare-Medicaid Dual Eligible Special Needs Plans (HMO D-SNPs).
D-SNPs are specialized Medicare Advantage plans for Medicare beneficiaries who are also eligible for Medicaid.
The company’s expanded Medicare Advantage dual eligible offering for 2026 will include new markets and enhanced products providing more integrated services:
- AmeriHealth Caritas will launch a D-SNP in metro Detroit (Wayne and Macomb Counties in 2026, Oakland County in 2027), as part of Michigan’s MI Coordinated Health program.
- AmeriHealth Caritas’ South Carolina D-SNP will now be available statewide.
- AmeriHealth Caritas D-SNPs will debut in western North Carolina (Buncombe, Haywood, and McDowell Counties) and southern Louisiana (Ascension, East Baton Rouge, Iberville, and West Baton Rouge Parishes).
- A second D-SNP product will launch in Delaware for partial dual eligibles, or Medicare beneficiaries who do not receive full Delaware Medicaid benefits.
AmeriHealth Caritas will continue to offer its existing D-SNP products in Delaware, Florida, and Pennsylvania.
“We see tremendous potential in the D-SNP space as more of the Medicaid population becomes Medicare-eligible,” said AmeriHealth Caritas Medicare Markets President Chris McDade. “By expanding our Medicare Advantage D-SNP offerings, we are empowering dual eligible members by providing them with more choices and improved care coordination. This leads to better health outcomes and a member experience tailored to their unique circumstances.”
AmeriHealth Caritas’ dual eligible products build on the company’s more than 40-year track record of making sure Americans most in need receive the comprehensive, compassionate care they deserve while reducing barriers along their health care journey.
