AmeriHealth Caritas D-SNP Plan in Pennsylvania Achieves 4-Star Quality Rating for 2026
Medicare Advantage Annual Enrollment Period Runs Through Dec. 7, 2025
AmeriHealth Caritas’ Pennsylvania Dual Eligible Special Needs Plan (D-SNP) has earned a 4-Star quality rating in the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) 2026 Star Ratings.
A highlight of the plan’s performance was its Consumer Assessment of Health Providers and Systems (CAHPS)® survey results. For the second consecutive year, all the plan’s CAHPS measures were 4 or 5 stars. It received 5 out of 5 stars on six of the nine measures, including Customer Service, Rating of Health Plan, and Getting Needed Prescription Drugs.
The plan’s composite CAHPS score has steadily increased over the past four years, rising to 4.67 for 2026. These results reflect focused efforts to resolve issues quickly, remove barriers to care, and deliver extraordinary customer service.
“Our star rating is a direct reflection of our organization’s incredible work and dedication to improving health outcomes and delivering an exceptional health plan experience,” said AmeriHealth Caritas Medicare Markets President Chris McDade. “This achievement underscores the commitment our Medicare team has to ensuring access to high-quality care, enhanced benefits, and compassionate service for our members.”
The rating from CMS comes just in time for the Annual Enrollment Period for Medicare Advantage plans, which goes from Oct. 15 to Dec. 7, 2025. Enrollment information for AmeriHealth Caritas’ dual eligible plan in Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery, and Philadelphia Counties is available here, and for the rest of Pennsylvania is available here.
CMS evaluates the quality of Medicare Part C (health plans) and Part D (drug plans) using data from member surveys, health plans, and providers. Ratings focus on preventive care, early disease detection, customer service, and benefits that support chronic condition management with the goal of improving care quality and strengthening protections for Medicare beneficiaries.
AmeriHealth Caritas has offered D-SNP plans across multiple markets since 2013 and statewide in Pennsylvania since 2020.
The D-SNPs build on the company’s more than 40-year track record of making sure Americans most in need receive the comprehensive, compassionate care they deserve while reducing barriers along their health care journey.
